Update- Dauntless by Dina L. Sleiman

About a week after I posted my original review of Dauntless, I received a new copy from the publisher (which was super nice of them!). It took me a day or two after to be able to read the 20 or so pages that had been missing from the original, but I have now, and I can tell you what I thought. In those missing pages were basically two things of note: the first was an incident which is mentioned later in the book (which cleared up my confusion over that), and a hint at what will occur in the next book. While neither of these things changes my opinion of Dauntless, the later does have me far more interested in reading the sequel.

  1. Hi Rebekah, I hope you don't mind me writing you here, but I was wondering how in the world you ended up with a copy of the book minus twenty pages. It's been kind of concerning me, and I wondered if it might have happened to anyone else. If you don't mind explaining what happened, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Dina

    1. Hi, I don't mind. I'm not sure how there were pages missing, but it looks like it just printed with out them. The pages missing were 320-336, which was the beginning of one of the chapters. I messaged the publisher to let them know so they could check their inventory, however, I don't know if they found any more or not (I just know that the new copy came in the mail). If you have any other questions, just let me know!

  2. Thanks. That's so weird. I checked my copies and they looked fine.

    1. lol, when I first turned the page, I stared at it for a minute or so before it dawned on me what had happened. At first I thought it was on purpose that there was a blank page, as other authors have done that, but I figured you would not have done so in the middle of a sentence.

Now I'm just trying to decide what I should do with the copy missing the pages.

  3. Yeah, I'm not sure there's much of a market for a book missing pages ;)
